Best Free Workout Tracker App for Serious Lifters
Most workout tracker apps are either too simple — just a notes app dressed up for the gym — or too complicated, buried under macros, meal plans, and subscription tiers. WorkoutLog Pro is built for the one thing that matters most: tracking every set, rep, and weight lifted, every session, consistently.
What a Workout Tracker Should Actually Do
A good workout tracker solves a real problem: without records, you have no baseline. You can't know if you're getting stronger if you don't know what you lifted last week. You can't spot a plateau if you don't see three months of data in one place. You can't optimize rest between muscle groups if you don't know which muscles you trained yesterday.
WorkoutLog Pro is built around this core need. Every session gets a gym number (gym001, gym002, ...). Every set is logged with exact weight and reps. Every exercise has its own history page and progress graph.
Key Features
Session-Based Logging
Each gym visit creates a numbered session — gym001, gym002, and so on. Within a session, you log sets for any exercise. The session persists all day so you can log sets in real time between sets at the gym, or fill in the whole session after you're done.
Bilateral Exercise Tracking
Most workout apps treat a bicep curl as a single set. WorkoutLog Pro tracks bilateral exercises — curls, lateral raises, leg curls, hip abductions — separately for left and right sides. When you use a barbell for both arms, log it as "Both." When you use dumbbells one arm at a time, log left and right independently. Your progress graph automatically accounts for this by showing the combined weight (right + left max).
Progress Graphs
Every exercise has a built-in progress page with two trend lines: your max weight per session (solid blue) and your total volume — weight × reps — per session (dashed orange). Max weight shows your strength peak; volume shows total workload. Both together give you a complete picture of whether your training is actually progressing.
History and Editing
Every past session is fully accessible. Tap any exercise on the dashboard to see your complete history session by session. Add sets to past sessions, edit individual logs inline, or delete mistakes. Your records stay accurate without losing your streak count.
Exercises Available
WorkoutLog Pro comes with preset exercises for common movements: push-ups, pull-ups, squats, crunches, plank, bicep curls, and tricep extensions. Add any custom exercise with a name, emoji, type (reps or time), weight toggle, and bilateral toggle. The app stores all exercises per user, so your custom movements are always there when you return.
Free, Always
WorkoutLog Pro is completely free. No subscription required to access your history, no premium tier for progress graphs, no ads between your sets. The full tool is available from day one.
